Thinking About Moving Your Static Caravan?

Moving your static caravan is easier than you think, it just requires a little careful planning. Let’s take a few minutes to look at the process of relocating your static caravan to another holiday park.

Moving your static caravan can be less hassle than you think!

First of all, let’s consider some positive reasons to move;

  1. Change of Location

Whatever the reason for relocating to another park, moving your static caravan to a new location can give a whole new lease of life to your cherished holiday home.

  2. Change of Scenery

From the seaside to the countryside, moving your static caravan allows you to experience different environments, landscapes and views, giving you and your family a fresh perspective to  your surroundings

  3. Flexibility Without the Cost

Moving your caravan gives you the freedom to explore new places without having to purchase a new caravan. You may also be pleasantly surprised to find that the annual running costs at a new park are a lot lower than you are currently paying!

  4. Lifestyle

Your lifestyle will change over time; families grow up, and children may not necessarily want to visit the caravan with mum and dad as much as they used to (sound familiar?). This may mean it’s time to move from the hustle and bustle of a family orientated holiday park, to somewhere with a little more emphasis on simple relaxation.

Factors and costs of moving a static caravan

The cost of moving your caravan can vary depending on a few different factors, such as the distance of the move, size and weight of the caravan, transportation method, siting, and connections.

Caravans are transported by specialised haulage companies using large lorries or flatbed trailers, with distance being one of the main factors when considering the cost of moving a caravan.

When discussing your move with us, we will provide a quote* based on your current location and distance. Included within this quote will be the transportation and siting of your caravan at your new Tingdene holiday park, electric, gas and plumbing connections and certification, along with Freesat dish/ aerial installation a set of steps and a gas bottle.

If you choose to relocate to us, we will arrange all of this with of our approved haulage and siting partners.

*Please note, not all parks offer the service of transportation, you may need to arrange this directly with your chosen caravan transportation company.

Leaving your current holiday park

It is important to know that there will likely be disconnection and de-siting fees at your current holiday park, which are payable by yourself directly to the park you are leaving.

Once you have agreed to those costs, you would need to let us know of an agreed date that your caravan will be de-sited and moved to the collection point at the front of the park, ready for the transporter to collect.

Our experienced transport partners are fully licensed and insured to move your caravan, which will provide peace of mind that your beloved holiday home is in safe hands during the move.

Can I hire someone else to move my caravan?

Yes, you can hire someone to move your caravan, however, this requires careful consideration and would require prior authorisation from the Park Manager. If you chose to arrange your own transport, the minimum move-on charge as confirmed by the park would still apply, regardless of distance.

If you choose to arrange your own transport, the caravan will only be permitted to be delivered to the allocated delivery point on the park. Once the caravan has been delivered, we will move the caravan from the delivery point, site and connect it on your chosen pitch ready for you to use and enjoy.
