At Caldecott Hall Country Park, we are always looking at ways to innovate and improve. As part of this ethos, and in the past year alone, we have introduced new facilities to the park such as Disc Golf, Foot Golf and Rugby Golf and a Golf Academy. Looking ahead to the future, we wanted to gauge your thoughts on exploring the exciting possibility of a Padel Tennis Court at Caldecott Hall Country Park!
What is Padel Tennis?
Padel is a form of tennis that is easy to play, fun and extremely sociable. It is played mainly in a doubles format on an enclosed court, about a third of the size of a tennis court and can be played in groups of mixed ages and abilities. The social element of the game, combined with the sport’s inclusive nature, has contributed to its rapid growth and widespread popularity in recent years. Padel is gaining significant traction worldwide, blending the best elements of tennis and squash into one dynamic and exhilarating experience.
Players use solid, perforated paddles, similar to those used in beach tennis. The ball used in padel tennis is also similar to a tennis ball but with less pressure, allowing for a slower pace and longer rallies.
What Is a Padel Court?
A padel court playing area is 20m x 10m wide and is marked with two service lines and a centre line. The net is 10 metres long and 88cm high at the centre, rising to 92cm at the ends and is attached to two lateral posts. The court features toughened glass rebound areas and is enclosed by a weldmesh fence.
